AA based. Beautiful location. Nice staff, amazingly helpful volunteers. Helpful? Sure. Percentage of females (I can only speak to females) that remain sober for 6 months after? 1% (if that).

Great place! Was there in 2007 for 30 day stay! Staff was excellent, it is basically peer ran, if you are capable of acting like an adult then you shouldn't have a problem, but if you still want to act like your still on the streets and full of yourself, well, it isn't for your dumb ass!! Great place! John day, about the money, you are an idiot, you are probably still getting high and drunk, MORON!!!!!

I attended the Retreat 18 years ago and I am still sober. This is definitely a twelve step spiritual based program. Part of the reason why the Retreat is an affordable program is because they do not have doctors on staff because they do not take a clinical approach. Where this may not be the answer for everyone, it definitely worked for me. The Retreat showed me the tools for sobriety and with some reluctance I picked them up and started to use them. Sobriety takes commitment and the first 30 days are crucial not only to have alcohol physically leave your body but to establish a new way taking on life. The basic rules when I visited the Retreat where not to concentrate on the outside world but instead work on developing tools to make yourself a better person, to me a spiritual person. This included attending group meetings, showing up for meals, no cell phones, no TV, no radio, treat others with respect and work the twelve steps as outlined in the Big Book. To some this may seem "cultist" but 18 years removed from the fog of my additive thinking it just seems plain common sense. With no doubt I am still sober today by doing what was asked of me during my first 30 days and working the program everyday since. I will always be grateful to the Retreat for showing me a new way to approach life.
